Richard C. Bonart is the owner of Belvidere Animal Clinic and chief executive officer of Danart Software LLC.

Dr. Bonart has worked with several state and local agencies on environmental issues. He helped develop blasting regulations for the City of El Paso and negotiated with the Texas Department of Transportation for the green development of Spur 276 and a pedestrian underpass on Loop 375.

An advocate for open space, Dr. Bonart helped develop the Open Space Master Plan for El Paso and the Northwest Master Plan. He served on the City’s Open Space Sub Committee, chaired the Open Space Advisory Board, and was appointed to the Stormwater Master Plan Community Advisory Committee.

Dr. Bonart earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from the University of Texas at El Paso and a doctor of veterinary medicine degree from Texas A&M University. His term on the Public Service Board will expire December 31, 2013.
