Maria F. Teran – Vice Chair

Maria F. Teran is owner, president and chief operating officer of Sierra Machinery, Inc., which she co-founded in 1981. She has served on the National Association of General Contractors International and Equipment Committees, the Texas Good Roads/Transportation Association Executive Committee, and the American Heritage Rivers Advisory Committee, to which she was appointed by President Bill Clinton in 1998.

Locally, Ms. Teran is on the Bank of the West and Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce Boards of Directors and co-chairs the El Paso Chapter of the Association of General Contractors. She was also appointed to the El Paso Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Technical Advisory Committee.

In addition to her civic involvement, Ms. Teran is a member of a numerous professional organizations and the recipient of many awards, including the Paso del Norte Award for Extraordinary and Exemplary Leadership and the El Paso Chamber of Commerce Emerging 30 Award.

Ms. Teran is serving her second term as a Public Service Board member. Her term expires December 31, 2012.
