Congratulations, El Paso! You have adopted the "Less is the New More" lifestyle – conserving water, saving money and living more responsibly in the Chihuahuan Desert. El Pasoans have once again proven why our community is a world leader in water conservation, saving more than a half-billion gallons of water in 2012 when compared to 2011.

But the need to conserve continues and drought preparation remains of paramount importance to the El Paso Water Utilities staff.

While EPWU is drilling new wells, building new pipelines, and extending the network of "purple pipes" that delivers reclaimed water for irrigation and industrial use, conservation remains the most potent tool we have to fight drought: The less water we use today, the more we'll have for tomorrow.

So, don't get left behind. Join the movement. Because, in El Paso, LESS is the new MORE.
