(El Paso) — Some West Side residents may experience water service problems late Friday night and early Saturday morning. Service will be shut down temporarily while El Paso Water Utilities installs a new 16-inch waterline.
On Jan. 18 at 11 p.m., the contractor will begin tying the pipeline into the distribution system. The existing pipeline will be shutdown at the Echo Cliffs, Whisper Canyon and High Ridge intersections of Redd Road, and residents will not have water service until the work is completed at 4 a.m. on Jan. 19.
Other residents are likely to experience low water pressure during the shutdown. The affected streets are indicated on the attached map.
The replacement of the Redd Road waterline is part of a city-wide, multi-year program to prevent breaks by upgrading the water distribution pipelines. El Paso Water Utilities will spend $16.3 million dollars for water system rehabilitation projects in fiscal year 2007-08.
