WHO:  EPWU Stormwater Crews and Managers
WHAT:  Unveiling of temporary project signs
WHEN:  2 p.m., Friday, March 20
WHERE:  Intersection of Pendale Rd. and Rojas Dr.
VISUALS:  Sign Installation; crews working on stormwater project.

If people passing through the intersection of Pendale and Rojas have been wondering about work crews in the area for the past few weeks, they are about to be enlightened.

A new four-by eight-foot sign at the location will tell people that a major improvement to El Paso’s storm water system is underway. It’s one of four signs being unveiled March 20th that will travel with El Paso Water Utilities stormwater crews.

“We are calling them ‘signs of progress,’”said President and CEO Ed Archuleta. “We get frequent questions about what we are doing and where improvements are happening, so this will inform them when progress is being made.”

Since March of 2008, about 1,500 maintenance projects have been completed by EPWU and a Stormwater Master Plan has been developed. The Public Service Board has approved the Master Plan, and City Council will vote on it later this month.
