At tomorrow’s meeting, the Public Service Board will consider selling 35 acres of land in Northeast El Paso to EP Plaza Partners for $3.646 million. The acreage is at the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 54 and McCombs Boulevard and borders the Northeast Regional Park. EP Plaza Partners is the sole bidder for the property, which can be developed as commercial property to meet the needs of far Northeast El Paso residents.

If approved by the Board, the City Council will be asked to authorize the City Manager to sign a deed conveying the land to EP Plaza Partners. The City of El Paso would receive five percent of the net proceeds of the land sale. The balance would fund water and wastewater system capital projects.

The Board will also take action on the:

  • PSB Governance Practices Review Phase 2 Report, which includes recommendations on best management practices for training, communications and advisory groups.  The report documents findings and feedback resulting from a comprehensive study of Public Service Board governance practices.
  • Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year-End Performance Measures Reports for water, wastewater and stormwater. The report captures revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year ending February 28, and looks at data such as average residential bill and number of retail and wholesale customers in comparison to the previous year.

The Board will also hear the Fourth Quarter and Fiscal Year-End Investment Report and review the Public Service Board investment policy.
