EL PASO – The El Paso Water Utilities (EPWU) was one of only five utilities recently honored at the 2010 National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) Winter Conference for Excellence in Management of wastewater treatment.
The Excellence in Management Program began in 2003 with EPWU being among the first recipients of the award. It can only be awarded every three years and since 2003, EPWU has won every eligible time. The award recognizes utilities that have implemented and sustained successful programs in utility management according to NACWA’s standards.
“This award is recognition that the entire utility staff is working as a team with clear direction from the PSB and upper management,” said Chief Operations Officer, David Brosman. “We are continuously improving programs to meet both current and future wastewater challenges and that we have an excellent record of accomplishments.”
For close to forty years NACWA has been recognizing water municipalities who share in their goals and efforts in improving the nation’s waters along with protecting the environment and recognizing the management efforts that make such things possible. EPWU’s management and staff continue to focus their efforts to go above and beyond meeting all state and federal regulations by developing strategic plans, exuding leadership, organization and continual improvement.
