TRAFFIC ALERT: BOONE STREET SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT News Release Contact: Christina Montoya, Vice President-Marketing and Communication 915-594-5596 (office), e-mail: cmontoya@epwu.org Date: October 14, 2010 EL PASO — A new sewer line in Central El Paso is being installed to update an aging system, which will improve customer service. Approximately 2.25 miles of sewer pipe will placed under Interstate 10, Union Pacific Railroad, Alameda Ave., U.S. 54, Franklin Canal and Paisano Dr. The new system will convey a major portion of the flow from Fort Bliss and Central El Paso from the intersection of Boone Street and Yandell Drive to the Haskell R. Street Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project requires the following road closures for the next 3 -4 weeks: Starting October 14, Stevens street south of Alameda will be closed for about ½ a block Starting October 18, Stevens street north of I-10 will be closed for about ½ a block We ask for the community’s patience for the duration of the project.
