Mission Valley Reclaimed Water Project
The Roberto Bustamante Wastewater Plant in the mission valley supplies reclaimed water through 8,000 linear feet of pipe to the Riverside International Industrial Center. This project focuses on providing reclaimed water for existing and future industrial use at the Riverside International Industrial Center located east of Loop 375 and north of Southside Road. The project value is $3.5 million paid by a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration and EPWU revenue bonds. Plans are being made to expand this system to serve irrigation customers such as parks, schools, and cemeteries in the mission valley. The project will be split into three phases (II, III, IV) expected to be completed by the end of 2006. Phase II will provide reclaimed water service to Mt. Carmel Cemetery and Phases III and IV will provide the pipeline, reservoirs and booster stations needed to adequately serve Del Valle High School and Blackie Chesher-Zaragosa Parks, as well as two new Ysleta Independent School District elementary schools.
