Science Standards
As the natural world
becomes a focal point in middle school science, emphasis is placed on the
environment. Through systems and processes students are encouraged to actively
participate and communicate how real life challenges require careful thought
out solutions based on research and experience. "Willie's Water World" is
a fun and constructive approach to address local water issues in the Chihuahuan
Desert that teaches skills such as observing, inferring, and experimenting
while learning about this natural resource. The information, activities
and themes are aligned to the National Science and Texas Science Standards
to compliment sections dealing with water resources. To easily identify
the standards, each section will list some science standards as it applies.
